In September of 2014 Flinthills Services opened the doors of a new day program in Andover to six clients. This Andover location is now at capacity, serving over twenty clients, with more who have expressed a desire to attend. Additionally we have brought Special Olympics and Teen/Young Adult Fun Nights under our umbrella. The growth of these programs has presented new challenges and opportunities. We have outgrown the current day program location, and we have acquired a larger facility at 202 E. Rhondda Avenue at the end of 2021. The new location will provide more space for day services, social events, and some Special Olympics practices. The site will require renovations that include: installing flooring, updating the kitchen, pouring concrete, and building a handicap accessible shower.
In order to fund renovations, Flinthills Services has recieved $118,500 from the Community Service Tax Credit Program through the Kansas Department of Commerce. .This program will offer great tax advantage for donors.
Contributions made by business firms or individuals that pay Kansas income tax are eligible for a 70% tax credit.
Donations must be $250 or greater and the payment should come directly from either the business firm or the individual. Flinthills would be authorized to offer tax credits for qualified contributions received between the 18 month period of July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022.
